July 1: The Pledge
Tory Hedderman is a self-centered, apathetic and brooding 16 year old who doesn’t really care about anyone or anything — that is, until his family has to move from New York City to rural West Virginia. When Tory is caught vandalizing a patriotic town statue of a WWI vet, he is ordered to perform community service at a local veteran’s hospital. Through the experience, Tory meets individuals who challenge his perspective on the world. “The Pledge” is a family drama that incorporates documentary footage of real-life vets sharing their views of on patriotism, young people today and how the worlds is changing before them.

An act of civil disobedience turns into a standoff with police when homeless people in Cincinnati take over the public library to seek shelter from the bitter cold.
July 15: Apollo 13
NASA must devise a strategy to return Apollo 13 to Earth safely after the spacecraft undergoes massive internal damage putting the lives of the three astronauts on board in jeopardy.
July 22: Star Trek (2009)
The brash James T. Kirk tries to live up to his father’s legacy with Mr. Spock keeping him in check as a vengeful Romulan from the future creates black holes to destroy the Federation one planet at a time. Remake with Chris Pine.
July 29: Hidden Figures
The story of a team of female African-American mathematicians who served a vital role in NASA during the early years of the U.S. space program.
