On Wednesday, December 13, from 6:30-8, the library will host Drink Like a Viking. The Vikings of Ullr who performed at the Fairy Tale Festival will be back to offer a taste of Viking culture in the way of Viking food and drink. This program is specifically aimed at adults and will offer four different kinds of Mead to sample. Mead is an alcoholic beverage created by fermenting honey with water, sometimes with various fruits, spices, grains, or hops. The alcoholic content ranges from about 3.5% to more than 20%. The defining characteristic of mead is that the majority of the beverage’s fermentable sugar is derived from honey. It may be still, carbonated, or naturally sparkling; dry, semi-sweet, or sweet. Tickets for this event are $20 and are available at the library or you can call and reserve a ticket to purchase at the door. Seats are limited! Call 422-9765 for more information.
